Shima is a coastal city in central Japan. Shima Spain Village is a theme park designed to look like a Spanish village, with roller coasters and flamenco dancers. Nearby, Matoya Bay is known for oyster restaurants. To the south, pirate ship–style cruise boats pass the forested islands of Ago Bay. There are panoramic bay views from Yokoyama Observation Deck. The clifftop Daiosaki Lighthouse overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
